Volunteer communications officer

We’re seeking our next Volunteer Communications Officer, someone passionate about amplifying BIPOC voices and helping us create an empowering platform for our community. If you’re excited to create meaningful content, tell powerful stories, and help shape a brand rooted in culture and belonging, we’d love to have you join our movement.

We’re looking for someone who…

Who loves creating content and working with social media.

Contributes ideas and creativity, and wants to build their portfolio through real projects.

Is a doer, social, outgoing, reliable, honest, and great at meeting deadlines.

Wants to grow in the role of communicator and thrives in a warm and small team where we support each other.

✨ Has basic experience working with Canva, CapCut, and Adobe Illustrator.

✨ Can write fluently in both English and Swedish.

✨ Has additional experience (not mandatory) working with SEO tools (e.g., Semrush), Google Analytics, or Meta advertising.

Purpose of the role

You will support our Head of Marketing with Suma Haven’s social media channels and help spread the organization’s message.

Your responsibilities

✨ Create content based on our visual identity and work in Canva.

✨ Post on Instagram and Facebook twice a week.

✨ Host a themed conversation on Instagram Stories once a week.

✨ Identify five relevant accounts to interact with on a regular basis.

✨ Film live content (e.g., short interviews with therapists or people on the street).

✨ Analyse engagement and reach for campaigns and posts.

✨ Staying up to date on changes in social media algorithms.

Conditions and Expectations

Position Details: 6-month volunteer role

Location: Stockholm, Sweden

Work Format: Hybrid position

Start Date: As agreed

Working Hours: Approx. 5 hours/week initially, with potential to increase to up to 10 hours/week

Support & Check-ins: Weekly planning/support meetings

Performance Review: Monthly reviews of key statistics
